SUV drivers interested in an alternative to the near-ubiquitous Jeep Wrangler welcomed Ford's announcement that the Bronco sports utility vehicle (SUV) would return after a 20-year hiatus. However, critics vocalized displeasure with the fact that the base Sasquatch package only provided an option for an automatic transmission. Ford representative Mike Levine confirmed that the Sasquatch edition of the Bronco featured a 10-speed automatic transmission with no alternatives short of upgrading to a more robust, customizable model.
